Reclaiming the Body’s Wisdom Retreat
7 days of movement, dance & somatic practices
In a world that constantly draws our attention outward, it is vital to reconnect with the body—the home that holds all of our experiences, emotions, and traumas. During this retreat, we will explore the deeper layers of embodiment, moving beyond the idea that we merely have a body to the understanding that we are our body. That the body is not an isolated, individual entity but is always in relation, constantly entangled with the world, nature, and other beings. It is through this entanglement that we recognize the body as a site of resistance and transformation.
Date: 23-29 June 2025
ABOUT THE RETREAT
Every sensation, every emotion, and every memory is woven into the fabric of our physical being, carried not just within our lifetimes but across generations. Every experience is etched into your body, with emotions often rising as tensions waiting to be released. This retreat offers a space to tune inward, away from the noise of the external world. Through a variety of practices, we will explore the body’s innate wisdom and its potential for deep healing and transformation. Our body holds tension, joy, anger, and resilience, and it is through movement and somatic practices that we will unlock these stories and emotions, allowing for a profound release and renewal.
Through dance, we will confront our avoidance—not only in movement but also in life. As many spiritual teachings often direct us to go upwards, towards the sky, we can find ourselves even more trapped in our minds, confused and ungrounded. Here, we will reclaim the body, returning to the ground that sustains us.
New ways of being and knowing emerge here, as we move beyond an anthropocentric view and understand ourselves as part of a larger ecological web, where human and non-human actors are intertwined. The body, in its dynamic wholeness, becomes a revolution, a vessel for healing not only for ourselves but for the earth and all beings.

WE WILL EXPLORE
Somatic tools to have greater means to understanding and regulating your inner and outer experience
Body, Earth & Gravity: We explore our deep relationship with place and gravity, reconnecting the body to the earth and grounding ourselves in its support.
Free Movement & Creative Expression: Through free movement and dance, we explore the body as a canvas for expression, using movement as a form of meditation and creative release.
Confronting Avoidance & Emotional Release: What we usually avoid in dance we avoid in life, by addressing tension in the body, we confront avoidance and transform emotions like anger
The Body as Entanglement: The body is not an isolated, individual entity but is always in relation, constantly entangled with the world, nature, and other beings.
The Body as Sanctuary and Revolution: The body can be a site of resistance and transformation, where new ways of being and knowing can emerge in response to societal and ecological challenges.
