Reclaiming the Body’s Wisdom Retreat

7 days of movement, dance & somatic practices

In a world that constantly draws our attention outward, it is vital to reconnect with the body—the home that holds all of our experiences, emotions, and memories. During this retreat, we will explore the deeper layers of embodiment, moving beyond the idea that we merely have a body to the understanding that we are our body.

Date: 23-29 June 2025

ABOUT THE RETREAT

Every sensation, every emotion, and every memory is woven into the fabric of our physical being, carried not just within our lifetimes but across generations. Feminine bodies, in particular, have absorbed the weight of systematic oppression—experiences that manifest as tension, numbness, and alienation. These imprints, both our own and ancestral, often rise as emotions waiting to be released. This retreat offers a space to tune inward, away from the noise of the external world, to release these deeply held patterns and reconnect with the body’s innate wisdom and joy.

Through movement and somatic practices, we will unlock the stories etched into the body—stories of tension, joy, anger, and resilience—allowing for profound release and renewal. As we confront avoidance in dance, we confront it in life, reclaiming the body’s power to restore intuition, vitality, and joy. This is a return to the ground that sustains us, breaking free from patterns of disconnection and exhaustion.

New ways of being and knowing emerge here, as we move beyond an anthropocentric view and understand ourselves as part of a larger ecological web, where human and non-human actors are intertwined. The body, in its dynamic wholeness, becomes a revolution, a vessel for healing not only for ourselves but for the earth and all beings. Dance, in its simplicity, becomes a ritual of reconnection.
