EMBODY, be in the body here and now: Embodiment means anchoring, rooting, feeling into the gut. It’s about expanding the boundaries of physicality, what the body is, and forging connections with the living world.

INTEGRATE and reconnect: Through poetry, study sessions, inspirational talks, stream of consciousness exploration, journaling, and sharing circles, we gain understanding and embody our transformations. We reconnect with the cycles of nature and can effectively process personal feelings, traumas, and trauma responses.

ALIGN and alchemise: The alignment and the alchemy of the body, mind and spirit system is achieved through meditation, practice, prayers and healthy nutrition.

THE PLACE “Mahakala Center” & Plant based food

The homely centre is located in the small seaside village of Buljarica in Montenegro, cradled by the mountains and the Adriatic Sea. Surrounded by the four elements of earth, air, sun and water, located on a steep hill between local houses and a 15-minute walk from the local beach.

The kitchen is fully plant based with a zero waste policy, all food sourced from local family owned organic farms and the water from the mountain spring. The food is home made by local Montenegrin women and the Menu crafted by Dr Vesna Lemm, a detox & nutrition specialist.

Mahakala offers 2 daily homemade vegan buffets, meal times based on a powerful intermittent fasting philosophy involving two highly nutritious meals per day (served at 10:00 and 17:00). During the day we serve plenty of seasonal fruits, spring water and herbal teas. Additionally coffee or snacks can be purchased from the coffee shop.

Your Retreat Facilitators

Giulia Anna Maria

Giulia Anna Maria defines herself as an artist of life: her life is, in itself, a path of creation and liberation.

She grew up in Rome where she studied law and started to work for several NGOs before she decided to move to Berlin. She started to practice yoga when she was 15, and later in her life this path chose her. She traveled to Nepal in 2012, where she began teaching yoga: on the rooftop where she practiced daily, children started gathering before heading to school and spontaneously she commenced guiding them through poses and breath awareness. After this enlightening trip, Giulia went back to Berlin where she accomplished a comprehensive 3-year TTC in Iyengar Yoga (1000h) and afterwards deepen her knowledge in yoga for women, seniors and therapeutic yoga. This allowed her to heal her body from an autoimmune disease (AS) and chronic pain that she developed in her teenager hood.

By now, her yoga practice is a mixture of somatic and embodiment practices, Hatha yoga, kundalini, butoh dance, sound healing (she plays the gong) and mantra singing. She has taught yoga for over 10 years and she has been teaching for the Tara family for 3 years. She loves to explore the teachings of various lineages and put them in practice within her own body and being on and off the mat.

Lauren Lee

Lauren Lee is an E-RYT 500, Anusara-Certified teacher and devoted student on the path of yoga. Since falling in love with the practice at 18, she has committed her life to studying and sharing ways that bridge the physical and spiritual realms, and call us back home to the heart. She has thousands of hours of diverse teaching experience and close mentorship with her two dearest teachers, Rose Baudin and Suzanne Faith.

Through classes, retreats and trainings, Lauren’s teachings offer intelligently sequenced classes aimed to strengthen, restore and align the physical and subtle bodies, inviting students to connect more deeply with the wisdom within. She empowers students to move on the mat with intention, integrity, presence and love — inspiring the yoga to ripple out into all areas of their lives.

Lauren resides in Ibiza where she shares the practice and love for life with the eclectic and bohemian community the island attracts. She is continuously humbled by the depth of the teachings and our ability to grow and evolve as individuals, and further awaken the collective embodiment.

What our past guests have to say:

"A magical week!! The 7 day retreat offered more then I could have imagined! Attracting such lovely, friendly, down to earth people that I really enjoyed doing all the classes, workshops & excursions on offer with. This is the most well rounded retreat, a feast for all the senses, in a beautiful wild setting, that really allows you to open your mind and heart to all possibilities. The classes were a good challenge for me, I’ve never eaten so well, I loved the sunset and adventures and can assure you you’ll come away feeling inspired, stronger, with new friends and a full heart."
